The English Premier
League clubs West Ham and Crystal
Palace have given up on Wednesday due to the coronavirus pandemic and have announced that they are suspending
their respective summer tours in Australia, which would have allowed them to
prepare for the 2020 season in July.
The two London clubs were going to face the Australian club
of Brisbane in a friendly tournament. "West Ham United regrets to confirm that, due to the impact of the
Covid-19 pandemic, the first edition of the Queensland Champions Cup has been
postponed," the English club said in a statement.
"It is very disappointing, but football is secondary in view of the current world crisis,"
said the president of Crystal Palace,
Steve Parish.
